Overview
Cookie-free, privacy-friendly web analytics: counts visitors without identifying them, needs no cookie banner and stores no personal data. A live visitor strip, sources, goals, funnels and team sharing; use it for free or install it on your own server as a single Go program.
01 · Problem
Google Analytics uses cookies, so sites in Turkey and Europe have to show a cookie consent banner, and when most visitors decline it the stats are incomplete too. Cookie-free tools like Plausible are paid, or need several databases to self-host. For the owner of a small site there was no free option that was both simple and privacy-friendly.
02 · Solution
I built a system that counts visitors by hashing the IP and browser details with a salt that changes every day and is then deleted; the IP is never written to disk and visits can't be linked across days. The 1 KB tracking script sends only the page path and campaign parameters, and can mask IDs in addresses. The server is a single Go program with SQLite: with covering indexes and an aggregate function I wrote in Go, dashboard queries went from 4 seconds to under 400 ms at 1 million events. The dashboard is written in TypeScript without a framework, under a strict CSP with Trusted Types, and has accounts, team roles, goals, funnels and CSV export.
03 · Outcome
A free service running at nabiz.miracdeprem.com; my portfolio and 10 of my live projects collect their stats with Nabız. With the AGPL source code and Linux packages, anyone can install it on their own server with no limits. Go and JavaScript tests check the counting, privacy and permission rules.
