Overview

A desktop management app for a small car rental office. Fleet, customers, double-booking-free reservations, pick-up and return, maintenance tracking, PDF contracts and revenue reports in one app, with picture cards filtered by budget and a clickable dashboard.

01 · Problem

Small rental offices often track cars, bookings and payments on paper or in Excel. The same car can be booked twice for the same dates, late and fuel charges are calculated by hand, and it is easy to miss which car needs service or who is late returning a car.

02 · Solution

I built a desktop app that only shows the cars free on the chosen dates and blocks overlaps inside a database transaction. Price, weekly and monthly discounts, late, extra mileage and missing fuel charges are calculated automatically, with money stored as whole kuruş. The dashboard shows overdue cars, today's returns and service due; a one-page A4 contract and return receipt are printed as PDF. All queries are parameterised, and outside data and photos are validated.

03 · Outcome

v1.0.0 released with a Windows installer, in Turkish and English with dark and light themes. Business rules (overlaps, charges, age and licence rules, SQL injection, sample data consistency) are verified by 33 unit tests, and a sample fleet of 124 cars with a year of history can be loaded on first start.
