Overview

A desktop task manager built with Electron, React and Firebase. Users type a goal and Gemini turns it into a 5-step action plan, returned as structured JSON through a response schema. Tasks sync in real time with Firestore and send desktop notifications before deadlines.

01 · Problem

Breaking a big goal into small, actionable steps is hard. Classic to-do apps list tasks but do not help with the planning itself.

02 · Solution

I built a desktop task manager with Electron, React and TypeScript. The user's goal is sent to Gemini 2.5 Flash, which returns a 5-step plan as JSON that always has the same shape thanks to a response schema. Tasks are stored in Firestore and synced in real time with onSnapshot, and state is managed with Zustand.

03 · Outcome

The result is an app with a daily quota of 10 free AI plans, active/overdue/completed tabs, and desktop notifications 30 minutes before a deadline and every morning at 08:30. It can be packaged for Windows, macOS and Linux.
